Our Objective

By building on Emory's unique strengths in entrepreneurship, innovation and global health both vertically and horizontally, I@E empowers Emory faculty, staff and students to make significant social impact through the development of novel products, services and interventions.

I@E’s key goals include:

  • Building on existing initiatives to create multidisciplinary training experiences in entrepreneurship, innovation and global health that address unmet needs and opportunities;
  • Developing and supporting experiential programs that offer in-depth learning opportunities;
  • Connecting faculty and students with innovation mentors from the private sector for guiding and advancing their innovations and interventions;
  • Developing and supporting broad-reaching programs and offerings that touch a wide cross-section of undergraduates, graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, faculty and professional staff at Emory, as well as in our neighboring Atlanta and Georgia-based institutions;
  • Integrating Emory’s activities with ongoing initiatives in the greater Atlanta community, the nation and the world by providing an organizing nexus, thereby taking out the guesswork for those interested in these efforts; and
  • Advancing a cultural transformation that minimizes fragmentation and promotes synergy.
